Ladies and Gents,
Take a moment to look around at a few more lips than usual today.
You’re looking at a trophy.
A trophy that represents solidarity against a hellish disease, of over $33M raised in Canada, and a global movement that will bring in nearly $100 million by days end.
Dreamers can dream of a disease free world today, but until it becomes reality and we have eradicated all forms of cancer, there is still much to do.
We’ve taken a step in the right direction.
Lips up. There’s pride to be had.
don’t forget to…
I’ve applied to be a Livestrong Mentor for next year. I’ll have a handful of individuals who are running grassroot fundraising campaigns. If I can land it, I’ll be the happiest camper in the world, and on good footing to land an internship next year. Let’s make it happen, ok?
Yes.
80 million bracelets in 7 years. Over $325 Million towards cancer research.
The power of a single grassroots movement is a beautiful thing.
And to paraphrase Seth Godin: Marketing is the creation of the product, not the creation of advertisements. The LAF has achieved such beauty in success because they’ve created a product of a progressive nature - by providing support services where none have ever existed, by pressuring all levels of worldly governments to attack the issue at hand and by spreading the awareness of a disease that takes the lives of more than TB, AIDS and Malaria combined.
Fight for the 28 million already doing so.
Today, the Directeur Sportif of Team Radioshack, Johann Bruyneel, begins his 2 month suspension that was handed out to him because of Team Radioshack’s decision to don the jerseys depicted above, in honor of the 28 million people worldwide fighting cancer.
The UCI, the governing body of international cycling decided that switching uniforms during the Tour de France is a huge no-no.
It’s ok though, isn’t it? The coverage they got was magnified way beyond what they would have received had they been able to wear the jerseys. There’s opportunities in unopportunistic happenings.
And thanks to Johann, and all of Team Radioshack, for standing behind a true cause.
Side note: It’s the 10 year anniversary of the formation of Livestrong. Rejoice, yo.
Admittedly, I love Livestrong garb, but this spin bike is pretty legit even without my bias.
Buy the limited edition ripper for $1700, and $1000 of it will be donated to your (and my) favorite cause.
You know you/I want it… it’s just plain sexy.
last night I went to molls’ birthday party with sophia and nicole.

.4. Watched some people smoke outside and I coughed a little. It’s because of my delicate constitution.
Whoa! Me and Zooey both have delicate constitutions!
Be still, my little heart. It’s time to make magic and shimmy-shake like no other.
